Processing Engineer
We are seeking an individual that is skilled and experienced with processing in the aerospace manufacturing field. This role is responsible for coordinating all processing activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the full lifecycle of processing for aerospace parts, documentation, and supplier communication.
- Ensure all processing suppliers meet AS9100, ITAR, and customer specific requirements.
- Review engineering drawings, process specifications and work orders to determine required special processes.
- Prepare and verify processing packets, travelers, routers, certifications, material traceability, and quality documentation.
- Track parts through the processing stage to ensure on-time delivery back to production.
- Resolve processing related issues such as missing certs, incorrect processes, supplier delays and any non-conformances.
- Work closely with approved processing suppliers (heat treaters, platers, coaters, NDT labs, etc.) to ensure capability, capacity, and compliance.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate quality delivery issues as needed.
- Support audits of special process suppliers and maintain up-to-date supplier qualification files.
- Work with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure processing requirements are understood and executed correctly.
- Communicate processing status updates to internal stakeholders and proactively address schedule risks.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, processing coordination, or supply chain.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong understanding of special processes such as heat treat, anodize, chem film, passivation, coatings, and NDT.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, and aerospace documentation requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process specs, and certifications.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for routing, scheduling, and PO management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or GED required, technical or associate degree preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Solid communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Unlimited arms and hands dexterity for required computer use.
- Able to stand for long periods of time, able to walk, and to lift heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
Pay Rate and Benefits:
- Pay Rate dependent on qualifications.
