Machine Repair Technician
We are seeking an individual that is skilled and experienced with machine repair and maintenance. This role is responsible for performing highly diversified duties such as installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns for both building and facilities maintenance. This role is responsible for ensuring overall smooth operation of facilities equipment. Ensuring production efficiency, quality compliance, safety adherence, and team performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is critical within this role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise processing activities including sawing, shearing, burning, laser-cutting, waterjet and drilling of plate, bar, and angle materials.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair of CNC machines, including but not limited to vertical machining centers, lathes, and boring mills.
- Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of shop equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs as required.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of the facility’s equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on the facilities, machines and equipment.
- Perform a variety of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical functions of facilities support equipment and production machinery.
- Use a variety of hand, power, and other machine tools.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Keep spare parts controlled and available.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Perform tasks such as soldering, welding, and metal cutting with precision and accuracy.
- Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices.
- Services, repairs, calibrates, regulates, fine-tunes, or tests machines, devices, and equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools.
- Hands on, get it done attitude.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

- Understand how to use the computers, including such tasks as turning the computer on and off, locating and opening files, navigate to websites, perform searches, and download files.
- Knowledge of computer applications including email, databases, word-processing programs and spreadsheets such as Microsoft Office.

- Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associates or Technical School in industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Three to five years related experience and/or training.
- Minimum of two years experience with hand and welding tools.
- Any machine, safety, or other related manufacturing certifications preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with configuration control, and aerospace documentation workflows.
- OSHA safety training
- Overhead crane operations
- Forklift operation
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
