Fabrication Layout Technician

We are expanding our Fabrication Layout Department and seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Layout Technician to help translate complex customer engineering into clear, efficient shop‑floor layouts. This is a key role supporting high‑precision manufacturing, ensuring our fabrication teams receive accurate, simplified, and production‑ready information based on customer models and prints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Break down customer CAD models, engineering prints, and build requirements into clear, understandable fabrication instructions.
  • Analyze and interpret customer 3D/2D data to create layout guides, templates, reference points, and shop‑ready documentation.
  • Program 3D/2D cutting machines within designated software.
  • Work directly with fitters, fabricators, engineering, and quality personnel to ensure accurate part layout and build flow.
  • Review CAD models using Rhino and manage customer data through Enovia.
  • Validate tolerances, dimensions, and critical features before work is released to the floor.
  • Communicate technical requirements clearly and confidently to fabrication teams.
  • Maintain organized file structures, job packets, revisions, and customer data throughout all stages of the build.
  • Support shop‑floor troubleshooting related to layout interpretation, fit-up, and print accuracy.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace fabrication or large‑scale tooling experience.
  • 5+ years CAD experience, including strong proficiency in: Rhino (3D modeling and inspection workflows), and Enovia (Data Tolerance Review and other various modules)
  • Ability to troubleshoot G-code.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability with a proactive approach to supporting fabrication teams.

Pay Rate and Benefits:

  • Pay Rate dependent on qualifications.
