As part of our annual Manufacturing Day (MFGDay) celebration, Futuramic proudly hosted students from Clintondale High School along with Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel. The event gave students a hands-on opportunity to explore modern aerospace manufacturing and learn about exciting career paths, while highlighting the vital role manufacturing plays in Michigan’s economy.
A Closer Look at Aerospace Innovation
Students from Clintondale High School were given an in-depth tour of Futuramic’s advanced manufacturing facility, where they explored critical areas such as engineering, tooling, machining, and aerospace assembly. Led by our team of experts, the students gained firsthand insight into the precision and innovation behind building space flight hardware, including components for NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS), rocket. Seeing the tools and technology that drive aerospace exploration provided the students with an exciting perspective on the future of manufacturing.
Connecting with the Future Workforce
A highlight of the day was the students’ opportunity to meet and interact with previous MFGDay attendees who now work at Futuramic. These former students, who have since turned their passion for manufacturing into successful careers, shared their personal journeys and offered advice on how to transition from school to the workplace. Their stories of growth and development served as an inspiration, showing that the path from classroom to career is not only achievable but full of rewarding opportunities.
Mark Hackel’s Support
Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel also joined the tour, engaging with both the students and Futuramic employees. Hackel, a champion of workforce development and manufacturing in the region, reinforced the importance of fostering local talent and ensuring that students have the resources they need to thrive in Michigan’s growing aerospace and manufacturing sectors.
Inspiring the Next Generation
MFGDay is celebrated nationwide to inspire the next generation of manufacturers, and this year’s event at Futuramic was no exception. By showcasing the real-world applications of the skills students are learning in their classrooms, we hope to encourage more young people to consider careers in the manufacturing industry, particularly in the rapidly advancing aerospace sector.
Looking Forward
Futuramic remains dedicated to supporting the next generation of builders, engineers, and innovators. We look forward to continuing our partnerships with local schools, educators, and community leaders to create meaningful opportunities that help Michigan’s aerospace and manufacturing sectors flourish.
